The story of Beren is a story of a second chance at life with loved ones. We are inspired by Tolkien’s characters, their love and sacrifice, and their refusal to give up on each other.
In the tale of ‘Beren and Lúthien’ by J.R.R. Tolkien, Beren (meaning Brave) was a man who fell in love with an immortal elf named Lúthien. As part of his romantic courtship, Beren was asked to embark on a quest, during which he became mortally wounded. Upon hearing of his death and driven by the desire to save Beren, Lúthien herself laid down and died in a selfless manner to appeal to the Gods with her last wish. In the final moment of her passing, Lúthien asked the Gods to grant Beren and her a second life, this time, both as mortals. The gods granted her wish and they lived out the rest of their days together.
